In-Form Pepple Set For New Loan Move

Canadian striker Aribim Pepple is set for his fifth loan spell from Luton Town following a strong run of form.

The 22-year-old was just recalled from Vanarama National League side Southend United, where he’s scored eleven goals in twenty-three appearances. He laid claim to the club’s Player of the Month awards in October and November.

With Pepple having found a good rhythm, Luton Town wish to test him in a higher level environment with League Two club Chesterfield reportedly set to take in the Canuck.

Chesterfield rest tenth in league standings but are in need of a new forward to step up following the sidelining of Will Griggs.

The re-loaning of the striker marks Luton’s fifth experiment to find the 22-year-old’s level, with Pepple having been loaned to Grimsby Town, Bromley, Inverness CT, and Southend United since joining The Hatters in 2022.

His last League Two spell with Grimsby Town saw him tally 436 minutes of game time split across fifteen appearances, with no goals to show for it.

The Kettering-born striker was prolific during his time in Canada’s top flight, finding himself in the midst of record-breaking form during his second spell with Cavalry when Luton first brought him in for a look.

Luton had moved quickly to sign the youngster following serious interest from Forest Green Rovers, with Pepple having also gained experience with the Getafe U-19 setup following trials with Sheffield United and Leicester City.

At 22, it’s easy to forget that Pepple has been a professional footballer for six years after turning professional with Cavalry at the age of sixteen.

Cavalry has built a strong reputation for developing players and moving them on to Europe, with Ross County’s Victor Loturi and FC Annecy’s Goteh Ntignee bring recent examples.

While Southend has confirmed the Luton’s loan recall, his next destination isn’t official yet, though Chesterfield is the expected destination.
